Company & Project Process

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Brda electricians are both licensed and insured to perform electrical work in Florida. We follow local regulations on every project to ensure code-compliant results.

Will you handle any necessary permits?

Yes. Your Brda electrician will secure the necessary permits and coordinate inspections to ensure the work remains compliant and on schedule.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Flexible financing is available for approved residential projects. Ask our team for options when you request your fast estimate.

Home Services & Upgrades

What services do you offer for homes?

Brda provides installs, upgrades and repairs for lighting, circuits, wiring, smart panels, EV charging and more.

Do I need to upgrade my electrical service to install a home EV charger?

It depends on your service panel’s current capacity, available space and choice of charger.

Most homeowners don’t need an upgrade to use the Level 1 charger that comes with their vehicle, but many do before installing a Level 2 charging station (which draws twice as much power).

Your electrician will begin with an assessment to advise if you’ll need a larger panel to install a charger. Brda installs Level 2 home chargers and ensures your panel, circuit breaker and wiring are all right-sized for safety.

Can you add a home battery for backup power?

Yes. Brda installs wall battery systems to provide steady power through peak use periods and outages. Our technicians are experienced with both solar and non-solar wall batteries.

Can you help with EV incentives?

Yes. Your Brda technician can provide the documentation needed to apply for available incentives related to your project. While we can inform you about government incentives, tax implications should always be discussed with your accounting professional.

Safety, Maintenance & Planning

Why do my circuit breakers trip so often?

Breakers that trip frequently may indicate aging or overloaded circuits, a loose connection or a failing breaker. If the issue persists, have your panel inspected by a licensed electrician as soon as possible. If the breaker vibrates, makes noise, feels warm or produces a burning smell, shut it off until a professional can inspect the panel.

What’s the difference between GFCI and AFCI protection?

Ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCI) prevent shocks by watching the current leaving and returning on the circuit. If there’s a mismatch, it cuts power quickly.

Arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCI) prevent electrical fires by looking for irregular voltage changes that indicate arcing.

Many areas of the home require one or both by code.

How often should I have my home’s electrical system inspected?

Residential electrical systems should typically be inspected every 3–5 years, and before any major installations or renovations. A Brda electrician can help you set a sensible schedule based on your home’s unique needs.

How often should smoke and CO detectors be replaced?

Refer to the manufacturer recommendations whenever you’re able. General guidelines are to replace smoke detectors about every 10 years and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors every 5–7 years. If you need new detectors installed, Brda’s got your back.

Do I need a panel upgrade before installing a new electrical fixture/appliance/HVAC system?

It mainly depends on your panel’s available capacity. Your electrical installation professional will start with a load assessment to make sure the project is safe, and only recommend an upgrade if needed. However, if your panel is rated for 150 amps or less, upgrading to a 200-amp model (minimum) is a general best practice for most homes.
